This preppy outfit gives me race car vibes for some reason, maybe because of the stripey cardigan. I really like the splash of green with the matching green hijab since I don’t usually see many outfits with hijab colors other than neutral. The Shirt
This shirt is a classic layering essential. I’m usually always either wearing a button up collared shirt or a mock-neck underneath the topmost layer since it’s an easy way to cover your neck without compromising on style. You can wear the shirt tucked in to the skirt or untucked, whichever is most comfortably. Personally, if I was wearing the cardigan open I would tuck the shirt in, and leave it untucked if the cardigan is closed.
The Cardigan
This is a pretty cool oversized cardigan. I like the shape of the sleeves since they’re kind of blocky and not tight so you can wear a layer underneath comfortably. Since the cardigan has a bold pattern and color scheme I’m building the rest of the outfit around it.
The Skirt
Maxi pleated skirts are one of the best skirts you can get since they are made not to stick to you. This skirt also doesn’t have a slit! To avoid any transparency issues you can wear a plain underskirt underneath like this one and if it’s cold, make sure to wear tights underneath like these fleece-lined tights!
The Coat
The white plush teddy coat matches with the white in the cardigan while adding an element of sophistication. The texture of the coat contrasts with the rest of the outfit without standing out too much. It’s the perfect outer layer for cold weather!
The Boots
The chunky white Chelsea boots with black detailing are the perfect footwear for this outfit. The bold contrast matches with the bold theme of the outfit. I like to pair boots with skirts because they add extra coverage if the skirt accidentally lifts up.
The Hijab
I picked a green hijab to match with the green stripes on the cardigan since I hadn’t incorporated any other green into the outfit yet. I would wear the hijab with one end tucked in to the white button up shirt and the other tossed over a shoulder. I like this green since it’s a bright color but it’s not overwhelmingly bright/neon.
The Accessories
For accessories I picked a small black shoulder bag to match with the black tones of the outfit. It’s big enough to carry any essentials you need, without overwhelming the outfit. Its minimalistic design also allows it to balance the outfit without adding excess patterns/textures.
