This outfit is a remix of the Toasty Snickerdoodle Outfit. I wanted to go for different footwear which would be more convenient for wet weather, so I ended up changing a few items in the outfit to match with the boots. Let me know which one you prefer in the comments below!

Neutral-toned cozy winter outfit featuring a beige turtleneck sweater, a matching knit skirt, a cream and taupe plaid belted coat, chocolate brown Chelsea boots, a rich brown leather handbag, and a soft brown scarf for a timeless, chic, and warm ensemble.

The Sweater

I would get this sweater in tall sizing and size up 1-2 sizes for a truly modest oversized look. Turtleneck sweaters are a perfect winter layering item- I like this one for its straight fit so it doesn’t bunch up around the hip and waist. This is also the same sweater as the one in the original outfit but I picked a darker color to match with the darker shoes.

The Skirt

This skirt is made out of thick fabric which is perfect for winter. It does have a long slit in the back (find me a thick maxi skirt that doesn’t have a slit in it :0) but that’s easily fixable by wearing a slip underneath it. You can either go for a plain brown/beige cotton slip like this one, or a pleated skirt underneath to add a fun texture (biggest life hack ever). I would go one size up to accommodate wearing a skirt underneath. It doesn’t really matter if it’s a bit loose around the waist since the waist area will be covered by the sweater!

The Coat

This coat perfectly ties in both the skirt and the sweater together. The plaid beige matches the colors of the rest of the items in the outfit, while adding pattern to make the look more visually interesting. You can wear it without the belt for added modesty. If you want the layers underneath to also show, you can loosely tie the belt in the back of the coat instead of the front, prompting the jacket to stay open without defining waist shape!

The Boots

I switched up the whole outfit for these boots! I like the length of the boots, since it helps add extra coverage with the skirt. The dark brown color is really satisfying and matches perfectly with the hijab I chose previously. They’re comfortable enough to walk in but they don’t make the outfit vibe comfortable. Instead it makes the outfit seem like you’re dressed for a purpose, not a stroll!

The Hijab

In this outfit I would wear the hijab tucked in to the turtleneck, especially if I’m keeping the coat on. I wanted to add a bit of a darker shade to create some contrast with the rest of the lighter outfit colors so I went with dark brown. It also matches with the dark brown boots. The chiffon hijab is lighter material which makes it easy to tuck into the turtleneck without adding bulk.

The Accessories

I went for a dark brown shoulder bag to match with the dark brown hijab and shoes. I changed this bag from the previous one because I wanted the vibe of the outfit to appear more functional following the shoe replacement, and I feel like since this bag is bigger it therefore implies more functionality. I also like how this bag is a darker coffee brown color as opposed to the brighter brown of the original, and it is less shiny so it stands out less.
