I find it really easy to make beige toned outfits, and usually that’s enough for a cozy winter/fall vibe. I wanted to challenge myself this time though and add some color elements while still maintaining some brown and beige tones! I think this is the cutest outfit I’ve made so far, let me know what you think in the comments below!
Table of Contents
The Tunic
This is a short sleeve tunic perfect for winter! If it’s a warmer day, the cardigan will be enough to keep you cozy, or you can wear a long sleeve shirt underneath the tunic to stay warm! You can go for a taller size to get more length on the tunic but it’s long enough with it’s original sizing to stay modest. The collared neckline also helps keep your neck from showing. I’m honestly considering making this a hijabi essential because it’s so versatile. It can fit into any styling category easily: casual or formal!
The Skirt
This is a cute loose skirt. It does have a slit in the back, but it will still look nice with an underskirt underneath! The skirt is designed in a way so that the slit is of the overlapping kind, so it won’t look weird if you sew it close. Alternatively, letting the slit remain open with an underskirt underneath will not look out of place. I think a plain white cotton underskirt would match really well actually, since it matches with the tunic. That way if it shows it’ll look purposeful! The cotton underskirt will also add warmth to the bottom layer.
The Cardigan
This cardigan is the star of the outfit. It’s so cozy and so cute with all the pink flowers. It reminds me a bit of sakura flowers, albeit a more vibrant pink. When I first saw it I felt a bit iffy because on it’s own it doesn’t seem very inspiring, but together with the rest of the outfit it really shines. It’s around the same length as the tunic so it won’t weird over it. It also has big balloon sleeves (I refuse to wear a cardigan with tight sleeves- it’s just uncomfortable) so the shirt sleeves won’t look bunched up weird underneath it. It just looks SO COMFY!!!
The Flats
I was a bit hesitant about going for bright pink footwear but I think it turned out SO well. These Mary Jane flats have a cute and lowkey style about them that overrides the bright pinkness, so it doesn’t look garish like I thought it would. I would wear these with white opaque socks or tights! There’s a trend going around where I’ve seen people wear flats with normal thick white socks- personally I’m not a fan- but that could also work.
The Hijab
I initially thought about going for a bright pink or beige hijab, both of which didn’t work. Bright pink looks nice theoretically, but it’s just a bit too much. Beige ends up washing out the outfit and making it more brown. I realized that I could just add another lighter shade of pink though, and if I matched it with the bag it looks all balanced! The inside of the cardigan is also a lighter shade of pink so it all makes sense.
I went for jersey because the fabric works well with the rest of the outfit textures. I would wear the hijab with both ends over both shoulders, or with one end tucked into the tunic and the other end over a shoulder. Since the bag is the same color as the hijab it’s not necessary for the hijab to drape down into the middle section of the outfit.
The Accessories
I found this bag to match the color of the hijab like I mentioned before. It’s a nice big bag- I think big bags are always a win for any outfit that’s trying to look cozy. Despite its size, it’s really plain which is perfect- it doesn’t end up taking over the outfit!
