A chic winter outfit styled for modest fashion enthusiasts. The look features a cream-colored oversized turtleneck sweater, a pair of rich burgundy velvet wide-leg pants, a luxurious black faux fur coat, and is accessorized with a pearl-handle white bag, a houndstooth silk scarf in shades of red and cream, and sleek black kitten-heel ankle boots and retro vintage cat eye sunglasses.

This outfit is definitely iconic! When I saw the velvet pants I knew I had to do something with them and this is what I came up with! Personally I feel like this outfit has ‘going to the theater’ vibes or going out to a super fancy dinner. Let me know in the comments below where you would wear this outfit!

The Sweater

A white turtleneck is a staple base layer for most winter outfits! I like this one because you have the option to go for tall sizing, for a longer and more modest fit. It also has small slits on the hemline, which I favor for a looser fit around the hips. The turtleneck is wide enough to tuck in your hijab comfortably without bulking up!

The Pants

I really like the color and material of these pants. They’re perfect for winter warmth! They seem a bit form fitting around the waist and hip area but with a long (tall) oversized sweater nobody will know. Otherwise they are loose and wide around the thigh and rest of the leg. You can also always go one size up and wear a belt or fold the top of the waist over, or just let it be loose for extra comfort!

The Coat

This is the ultimate winter coat, I feel warm just looking at it! It’s a statement piece, but also it’s not really out there. I don’t think any of the items in this outfit are out there actually, but when you put them all together they create a really fancy look!

The Boots

These pointed-toe ankle boots are practical and stylish. They provide cover for your feet from the harsh elements unlike most heels. They’re also just short enough that they don’t create bulk underneath the pants. The black suede fabric meshes well with the velvet pants. The low kitten heel provides just enough lift without sacrificing comfort, making them perfect for long events where you have to stand or walk a lot.

The Hijab

This hijab has a satin/silk feel to it and has a houndstooth pattern that makes the outfit more visually interesting. I would wear the hijab tied grandma style with the bottom ends sticking out of the turtleneck but you could also wear it in the classic turkish style tucked inside the turtleneck for a more professional look. I would also pin the hijab to the undercap because these kinds of scarves tend to slide around quite a bit.

The Accessories

For accessories I went with a cream clutch/shoulder bag to balance the darker aspects of the outfit and match with the sweater. I really like the pearl design on the handles! The clutch comes with a long handle so you can wear it as a crossbody or shoulder bag, but for this outfit it makes the most sense to keep it in clutch mode.

I also went with retro cat eye sunglasses since the style complements the silk scarf vibe. The black sunglasses also matches the coat and boots, making the outfit feel fully complete.
