This dark green duo-toned outfit is refined and subtle. Black and dark green go really well together for an elegant outfit that’s not too bold. This makes this outfit perfect to wear for social events like fundraisers and dinners, or a fancy night out! It’s a warm outfit with a sweater base and a long cardigan, but if it’s not warm enough you can always pair it with a thick long black coat without losing elegance!
Table of Contents
The Skirt
I really like this skirt. It’s very subtly patterned so it doesn’t really pop out in the outfit, unlike most patterned clothing. It still creates a little bit of contrast with the other plain items though! It has a chiffon layer underneath it which hits to the calves so I would recommend wearing an extra skirt layer underneath it like this one.
The Sweater
This sweater is a classic base for any winter outfit. The turtleneck is not too bulky but it’s big enough to tuck the hijab underneath without choking you. The black color matches with the green of the skirt and makes for a good warm layer. I recommend getting tall sizing and going up one or two sizes for a loose long fit!
The Cardigan
Long cardigans are super useful for making any outfit more modest, whether you wear it with pants or a skirt! I went for dark green since the middle layer is already black so I wanted to provide some color contrast with the black sweater. Since it’s an open cardigan it allows the sweater to still show through. I also would recommend going up a size for this cardigan.
It also matches the tones in the skirt, which ties the top and bottom layers really well. Layering is an easy way to add multiple colors to a section of an outfit without resorting to patterns! If you want to add a coat to the outfit I would then recommend adding a long black coat.
The Heels
I like these low heels because they’re easy to walk in and not super flashy. These heels have a closed toe so you can wear socks without it looking weird (go for opaque socks like these). The pointy toe and small heel add sophistication to the outfit. The heels make this an elegant! Changing the heels will change the whole vibe of the outfit!
The Hijab
Since the topmost layer we have is the dark green, I went for black to create contrast. The chiffon material of the hijab contributes to the classiness of the outfit. I would recommend tucking it inside the turtleneck for this outfit!
The Accessories
I picked a small black shoulder bag to match with the shoes and the black tones of the outfit. It’s big enough to carry any essentials you need to attend a social event, without overwhelming the outfit. Its minimalistic design also allows it to balance the outfit without adding excess patterns/textures.
