This outfit is a spin off of The Classic Winter Outfit. I mentioned I was torn between brown boots and sneakers for that outfit, so I decided to see what would change if I went for the brown boots! This is what I came up with. It’s more of a classic winter outfit with mostly brown shades, but whoever said classic was bad? I think this might be my favorite outfit yet! The Sweater
I like the size of the turtleneck, it’s perfect for tucking in your hijab or leaving it out without looking bulky either way. I think the heather color goes much better with the brown boots than a gray sweater. It’s not really an obviously brown or beige color, which makes the outfit interesting. Since it falls into the brown category though, I didn’t have to find a second item to match with it. You can see that it still looks good though! I would recommend getting tall sizing and going one or two sizes up for a more modest fit.
The Pants
These brown pants are baggier in real life than in the picture. They’re “super-wide leg” to quote the product title. Historically, I’ve struggled with styling wide pants- I always feel like I have to wear short tops with them, which isn’t really as modest as I would like. I eventually realized that the best wide pants to wear with long tops are made out of soft loose materials (as opposed to something stiff like jeans).
The Jacket
I like this coat because it looks warm and cozy, while also making the outfit more elegant/sophisticated. It’s a great outer layer that adds extra coverage :). I also like that the texture of the coat adds depth without breaking the neutrality of the outfit.
The Boots
I switched up the whole outfit for these boots! I like the length of the boots, it hits right above the ankle, so it doesn’t mess up the bottom part of the pants. The dark brown color is really satisfying and matches perfectly with the hijab I chose previously. They’re comfortable enough to walk in but they don’t make the outfit vibe comfortable. Instead it makes the outfit seem like you’re dressed for a purpose, not a stroll!
The Hijab
Since the outfit ranges from light to medium light colors, I wanted to throw in a darker shade to add some contrast. I picked a dark brown chiffon hijab because I feel like the chiffon fabric complements the style. I would wear the hijab with one end over my shoulder and the other end tucked inside the turtleneck.
The Accessories
As usual I picked accessories that would balance out the outfit color. So I went for a dark brown shoulder bag to match with the dark brown hijab and shoes. I also wanted the texture of the bag to be more shiny/leathery since it adds another texture element to the outfit. I like this bag because it’s not flashy and is what I would envision wearing to a business setting.
