This outfit is a classic minimalist fall/winter outfit. It’s got the beige, the grey, and the brown! I think it’s better than most outfits with those color combinations though, because even though it has “drab fall colors” it still looks pretty light and bright. This is perfect for museum visits, walking in the park, going out for a coffee, or really any casual relaxed settings!

The Sweater
I found this sweater in the men’s section but we all know that men’s sweaters are better than women’s sweaters anyways. Size up for an oversized fit! I usually like to go two sizes above what would normally fit me, especially if I’m going to wear pants with the top. I also like the mock neck on this sweater because it’s not too big to create bulk underneath your hijab.
The Pants
These brown pants are baggier in real life than in the picture. They’re “super-wide leg” to quote the product title. Historically, I’ve struggled with styling wide pants- I always feel like I have to wear short tops with them, which isn’t really as modest as I would like. I eventually realized that the best wide pants to wear with long tops are made out of soft loose materials (as opposed to something stiff like jeans). I chose the color brown because I wanted to pair the gray sweater with with brown and cream/beige colors. It’s unexpected- I usually see gray with black and white or in monochromatic outfits- but it still works pretty well!
The Jacket
I mentioned I like to pair gray with brown and cream, so this is where the cream comes in! I like this coat because it looks warm and cozy, while also making the outfit more elegant/sophisticated. It’s a great outer layer that adds extra coverage :). I also like that the texture of the coat adds depth without breaking the neutrality of the outfit.
The Shoes
I was really debating between a pair of dark brown boots and these shoes, and I finally decided on these. I needed something to subtly match with the gray of the sweater and I didn’t think a gray hijab or purse would look nice. I also like that it also matches with the coat! It tones down the outfit a bit, and adds to the comfort level! I really like patterned shoes and I always find a hard time styling them, but this one is neutrally patterned so it will be easy to wear with other outfits as well.
The Hijab
Since the outfit ranges from light to medium light colors, I wanted to throw in a darker shade to add some contrast. I picked a dark brown chiffon hijab because I feel like the chiffon fabric complements the style. I tried other colors as well (cream, gray) but it just didn’t look right. I would wear the hijab with one end over my shoulder and the other end tucked inside the turtleneck.
The Accessories
As usual I picked accessories that would balance out the outfit color. So I went for a dark brown shoulder bag to match with the dark brown hijab. I also wanted the texture of the bag to be more shiny/leathery since it adds another texture element to the outfit. I like the design of the bag since it is halfway between casual and classy, which is exactly the vibe of this outfit. I also picked sunglasses to match the coat and shoes to really tie everything in together. If it’s not sunny you can still achieve the same effect by wearing a cream or white underscarf!
