I have not done a remix in a while so I figured it was time! This outfit is a remix of The Basic Winter Outfit! This was a fun remix to make because I still wanted to maintain the basic aesthetic, but switch up the pants for a skirt! Let me know which outfit you like more in the comments below!

The Shirt
Since I’m styling this outfit with a big v neck sweater, a casual oversized button up works perfectly to cover up the neck area while looking intentional. You can also wear a mock neck tank top underneath and leave some of the buttons open for an even more casual vibe. I like the bottom of the shirt to stick out a bit underneath the cardigan to add an extra layer of modesty in the hip area, and this shirt comes in tall-sizing so you can wear it even longer if you would like, although I like the length as-is
The Sweatshirt
This is an affordable v-neck fleece pullover with baggy sleeves. I like the fit- it’s very loose so it doesn’t stick to your hips or waist. I would go a size up for an oversized look. It hits directly at the hip area so when wearing with pants you might need to wear a longer shirt underneath such as in this outfit, or go with baggier pants! This is also one of the reasons why I remixed the outfit with a skirt as well (for those of us who don’t wish to gamble on whether or not it will look modest enough).
The Skirt
This is an interesting skirt for the white fabric in the upper half. I think this is actually perfect for wearing shirts on top of since usually when you’re wearing lighter tops, like the white button up, if the skirt is a darker color underneath you’re able to see it through the top fabric. In this case since it’s white, and we have a white button up, the blackness of the skirt won’t show through! The fabric of the skirt is also stiff which makes for a good basic look and prevents the skirt from sticking.
You can wear a cotton underskirt underneath to add more structure to the skirt, and fleece-lined tights to stay nice and warm!
The Coat
This is a classic navy blue puffer coat. I would size up since it is made to fit tighter around the waist. I like that it’s long so it hits between the waist and the knees so it kind of looks like a coat dress! I also like the big hood with the inner layer around the neck to help keep you extra insulated and toasty!
The Boots
Since I switched the pants to a skirt I opted for boots as well since I prefer high top shoes with skirts! I went with these black boots since they matched the skirt aesthetic. They’re also a good basic item to have on hand, similar to the white sneakers- they’ll go with basically anything.
The Hijab
I picked a navy blue hijab to match with the sweater and the jacket. If you go for black shoes I would switch the color to white instead to have a balance of white in the outfit. I would wear the hijab with one end tucked into the button up and the other tossed over my shoulder, all underneath the big puffer coat!
The Accessories
For this outfit we have several accessories which you can choose to forego depending on the weather, but that I think bring the whole outfit together quite nicely. First off we have an oversized balaclava- although the jacket has a hood in it- because the chiffon hijab material can be a bit light so the balaclava helps keep your head warm even if you decide to take off the jacket. It also adds an extra layer that is sure to stay on your head and not fall off like coat hoods do.
Then we have a waterproof black laptop tote bag for added functionality. The black bag still matches the outfit even if you forego the balaclava and the sunglasses (and you don’t wear black shoes) since black and navy blue pair very well together.
Lastly we have a pair of big black sunglasses (since it’s always extra bright out when it’s snowed) which match the rest of the accessories. The size of the sunglasses matches the overall casual, basic theme of the outfit!
