In the spirit of colorful winter outfits, I introduce the 2000s Peppermint Outfit! It’s a red outfit that’s not TOO red, if you know what I mean. Let me know what occasions you would wear this outfit to in the comments below!

A chic and modest outfit featuring a red-striped white trench coat paired with wide-leg jeans. The look is layered with a white turtleneck sweater and complemented by red chunky kitten heels. The Sweater

A white turtleneck is a staple base layer for most winter outfits! I like this one because you have the option to go for tall sizing, for a longer and more modest fit. It also has small slits on the hemline, which I favor for a looser fit around the hips. The turtleneck is wide enough to tuck in your hijab comfortably without bulking up!

The Pants

These are really wide light jeans! I like their width since they’re wide enough to be straight, but not triangular. It gives the outfit a more casual vibe but they’re structured enough to not be too casual.

The Coat

The trench coat is the star of the outfit. I try to make all the outfits modest with or without a coat but this is one outfit where I would not be taking my coat off- it just looks too good! It reminds me of peppermint, which is a perfect winter vibe. You can also wear the coat without the belt to make the outfit more modest.

The Heels

These heels add an extra element of elegance to the outfit and match really well with the coat. The short block heel makes them comfortable to walk in and gives enough lift so the wide pants aren’t dragging on the floor (I often find that wide pants are really long, why this is a thing I have no idea).

The Hijab

The hijab gave me quite some trouble. I had the rest of the outfit worked out but I couldn’t figure out the color. I had almost settled on a blue the color of the jeans, which kinda worked. I decided to try pink as a last resort and it was perfect! I forgot that dusty pink works really well with red. Plus the jacket has some pink tones to it that are not obvious until you match it with the pink hijab.

I would wear this hijab with both ends tucked inside the turtleneck. I feel like that adds a bit more classiness to the outfit!

The Accessories

This bag matches with the turtleneck, coat and very subtly matches with the shoes as well with the gold detailing. It’s the perfect accessory to tie everything together although it’s barely noticeable next to the rest of the bolder items. You could also switch out the white bag with this pink one if you’re going for a more casual look.

      1. Hmm, right now I’m looking to get some wardrobe staples which I see in some of your posts you’ve covered. Will you be doing a post on different pants(jeans, trousers, etc) to have as staples? I think that’d be helpful. Love your posts!
