I’ve never been able to wear flats or similar styled shoes where the fit relies on your foot being exactly the size of the inside of the shoe. I recently bought short block pump heels and I really wanted to keep them but they were ever so slightly big. As I was about to return them someone suggested getting heel grips for them (which I had never heard of before) so I bought some to try them out, and they really work!

Stops heel from slipping out

There are some shoes that fit perfectly but there’s not enough grip to keep your heel from slipping out, especially if you’re wearing “slippery” socks or tights. So (as in the name) these help grip your heel to prevent it from slipping out. I’m actually currently wearing tights and my new heels with the heel grip and it takes some real effort to try to get the shoe to fall off!

On this note though, if your shoe already fits really well despite the heel slipping issue, adding the heel grip might make it uncomfortably snug. So that’s something to watch out for before you commit to putting the heel grip in the shoe (they can be a bit difficult to remove). You might consider going a half size up and then putting in the heel grip!

Good for half sizes

I’m a half size, but occasionally I come across shoes that are only available in whole integer sizing. So these really helps for shoes that are too snug if you round down, and too loose if you round up! You can use these for basically any shoe to make it fit more snugly. The only pair of footwear that I’ve tried them with that it didn’t work for were these boots that are fluffy on the inside. I don’t recommend even trying to put them in because it kind of ruins the fluff part a bit.

Prevents heel chafing

If you’re someone who wears flats or similar styled shoes a lot, this helps to prevent your heel from chafing or bruising. The heel grips are really comfortable since it’s basically extra padding and provides a layer between your heels and the pointy back end of the shoe. I will also note that you can’t even tell that you’re wearing a heel grip, i.e there’s not an obvious gap between the back of your shoe and your heel.

Gone are the days when I used to stuff tissues into the back of my shoe to make it fit properly! These heel grips are a really inexpensive way to adjust your shoes to fit just the way you want them!
