This outfit is almost an exact replica of The Elegant Green Outfit, but it’s totally different! All the items except for the skirt were replaced, so I don’t think this qualifies as a remix per se. It also embodies dark academia more than The Elegant Green Outfit did! I personally like this one a lot more, but let me know what you think in the comments below!

The Shirt

We’re starting off this outfit with a long sleeve mock neck base layer shirt. See this post for more details on why I picked this specific shirt!

For this outfit, a long sleeve base layer is necessary since the sleeves of the dress are transparent. I also went with a mock neck since the neck of the dress is a little too wide to be covered comfortably with just the hijab!

The Dress

This is a really cool midi dress. I like the bell sleeves a lot although they’re a bit transparent- they’re super long so the sleeves of the shirt underneath won’t stick out oddly. The slight ruffles on the bottom of the dress add a fun textural element to the outfit. It’s one of those short dresses that’s just made to be worn with a skirt underneath.

The Skirt

I really like this skirt. It’s very subtly patterned so it doesn’t really pop out in the outfit, unlike most patterned clothing. It still creates a little bit of contrast with the other plain items though! It has a chiffon layer underneath it which hits to the calves so I would recommend wearing an extra skirt layer underneath it like this one or tights/long socks.

The Coat

This coat is actually quite affordable but it looks really expensive! I love the snakeskin embossing since it matches the vibe of the dress perfectly. The green color also matches well with the skirt. I’ve been waiting for a chance to use this coat for weeks now and I’m glad I finally got the opportunity to! It definitely elevates the whole outfit and maintains the aesthetic and elegance of the outfit even as it covers most of it.

The Boots

You can’t tell me these boots don’t compliment this outfit PERFECTLY, I refuse to believe otherwise. The vintage aesthetic is exactly the vibe of the outfit- the laces add an extra “complicated” pattern that interacts well with the snakeskin texture of the jacket and adds more visual interest to the layers underneath. The heels are pretty short so they’re easy to walk in and comfortable!

The Hijab

I picked this olive green hijab to match with the green colors in the skirt and to slightly offset the green of the coat. I think chiffon might be a better fabric than the jersey fabric which I used here, but either one should work! It’s harder to find this exact shade of green in chiffon.

The Accessories

For accessories I went with this cool block bag which has a similar texture embossed on it as the jacket. I think the sharp edges and corners match with the edges of this outfit, since everything is kind of more blocky as opposed to curved (I hope that makes sense). I tried a small curved purse and it didn’t feel quite right.

What I like about this outfit is that a lot of the elements in it, such as this bag, are pretty standout items, but they all work together instead of competing with each other. The overall look ends up meshing really well and none of the items look out of place.

If you wish to add sunglasses to the outfit, consider going for sharp cat eye sunglasses like the ones featured in The Iconic Movie Outfit!
